High Quality Relays

50+ years of outstanding reputation for extended relay lifetime derived from continuous staged manufacturing inspection, strenuous full range thermal cycling and 100% testing for all operating parameters.

Reliability by Design

Our environmentally compliant Reed Relays use Softcenter™ technology, minimizing internal stresses on the reed switch, resulting in an extended life and contact resistance stability.

Switching Performance

Our formless coil technology enables the use of higher AT grade switches; delivering more robust and reliable switching, higher standoff voltages, tighter operation windows and greater immunity to stray magnetic fields.

Cost & Size Performance

Leading edge mu-metal magnetically screened reed relays allow ultra-high packing densities, saving significant PCB space resulting in lower costs, while eliminating magnetic interaction effects.

Just some of our advantages

Supplying some of the smallest reed relays available today. We use only the highest quality instrumentation grade reed switches and our unique SoftCenter technology.

About Pickering Electronics

Pickering Electronics was formed in January 1968, with the aim to design and manufacture high quality reed relays, intended principally for use in Instrumentation and test equipment. Today, Pickering’s Single-in-Line (SIL) range is by far the most developed in the relay industry with relays 25% the size of many of their competitors. The small SIL relays are sold in high volumes to large ATE companies throughout the world. Pickering relays have many advantages over the more usual ‘Hard Molded’ construction. They are constructed using SoftCenter technology which greatly reduces stress on the delicate glass reed switch capsule for maximum life and performance. Mu-metal magnetic screening allows high packing density without the risk of problems due to magnetic interaction between relays.
